Alejandro Garnacho has formally requested to leave Manchester United and is determined to join Chelsea this summer.
The 20-year-old winger has already agreed personal terms with the Blues and turned down approaches from other clubs. His stance is putting pressure on United, who initially valued him at around £70m, but due to financial restrictions and the player’s determination to move, the price has now dropped closer to £40m.
Chelsea have made an offer worth £30m plus bonuses. Swap deal options involving players such as Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, and Renato Veiga have also been discussed, but no progress has been made on that front.
Clubs including Napoli, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, and Aston Villa have all shown interest, but Garnacho’s priority is clear – he wants to stay in the Premier League and play Champions League football. That puts Chelsea in the strongest position to secure his signature.
Inside Manchester United, it’s already widely believed that Garnacho has played his last game for the club. While some final details still need to be resolved, the feeling is that this transfer is now only a matter of time.
