Brighton striker is on the verge of joining French side Strasbourg in a deal worth around £13.8 million. The plan is for the 21-year-old to spend a season in France before eventually moving on to Chelsea.
Enciso is expected to agree personal terms in the coming days. Brighton will also receive bonus payments if he reaches a set number of appearances and if Chelsea go on to win the Premier League. A sell-on clause has also been included.
The move highlights the close connection between Chelsea and Strasbourg, who share the same ownership group. Since Chelsea’s takeover in 2023, the French club has brought in several young talents linked to the London side, as well as players with Premier League experience.
Strasbourg, managed by Liam Rosenior, already feature a number of Chelsea loanees and signings, alongside former Premier League names such as Valentin Barco and Sekou Mara. The club finished seventh in France last season, earning a spot in the Europa Conference League.
For Enciso, the switch comes after being left out of Brighton’s opening-day squad. He leaves the Seagulls with five goals to his name and a loan spell at Ipswich Town last season.
