Eberechi Eze: From Academy Rejection to Premier League Star Wanted by Spurs & Arsenal

Eberechi Eze has become one of the Premier League’s most exciting talents — and it’s no surprise Tottenham and Arsenal are battling for his signature.

The Crystal Palace and England international is a versatile attacker, equally dangerous out wide or in a central role behind the striker. Known for his close control, balance, and ability to glide past defenders, Eze thrives in tight spaces and often turns half-chances into goalscoring opportunities. In recent seasons, he’s added more goals to his game, with well-timed runs into the box and clinical finishing becoming his trademarks.

The Heart of Palace’s Midfield
Since joining Palace, Eze has been the creative spark in their midfield, helping drive the team to success in competitions like the FA Cup and Community Shield. His style of play makes him a constant threat and a fan favourite.

Humble Beginnings and Early Struggles
Eze’s rise wasn’t smooth. Born on June 29, 1998, in Greenwich, London, to Nigerian parents, he grew up playing football on local pitches. His academy journey began with Arsenal, but he was released at 13. Short stints with Fulham and Reading followed, but he again found himself without a club.

At Millwall’s academy, Eze developed his tactical awareness, but in 2016 — at 18 years old — he was released once more. Facing the possibility of giving up professional football entirely, he even considered finding a regular job.

Everything changed when Queens Park Rangers offered him a trial. Eze impressed instantly, earning a contract in August 2016 and starting with the under-23 side. His performances quickly caught the attention of QPR’s first-team coaches, setting him on the path to the Premier League.
